A workshop has been planned for OTs to learn more about student mental health in the classroom as well as their own mental well-being. OT assignments can be very challenging, particularly when constantly working with a variety of students in different school environments. Dr. David Tranter, a professor at Lakehead University and Mental Health Lead for Lakehead Public Schools, will be the presenter. He has co-authored the book, The Third Path, with Lori Carson and Tom Boland, a relationship-based approach to teaching. This will be a very informative workshop. Three copies of the Third Path will be given away as door prizes. Dinner will be available.
